Allan Kelly is a lifelong believer and a father of four adult sons. He grew up in church from the age of 5. After high school and through some difficult times that would shape him to be a more useful tool for the Lord, God opened some doors working with children that would lead Allen to where he is today.
Before joining the military, he worked for two years at Youth Haven Ranch in Rives Junction, MI. Youth Haven Ranch is a non-denominational camp for disadvantaged children consisting of week-long camp visits during the summer and weekend camp visits during the school year. In Mar of 1992, Allen joined the United States Air Force. In April of 1999, he switched to the United States Army to become a pilot and fly helicopters. Upon retiring from the United States military, the Lord opened the opportunity to go back to school where Allen achieved an AA from Lake Superior College, a BA in Psychology, and a Masters in Social Work. He now works as a Psychotherapist.
In Duluth, he interned as a therapist in a residential facility for children and worked with teenagers in individual, group, and family therapy settings. He also worked as a counselor, coordinating day to day activities, along with teaching coping strategies.
After moving to Duluth, MN, he attended the Duluth Vineyard Church for 11 years, 9 of which he served in the Vineyard Kids ministry. The Lord utilized Allen in the small group classrooms, the large group sessions, and as a Vineyard Kids coordinator. After moving to Houston, he was asked by Shane Sullivan, the lead pastor, to fill the role of Children’s pastor at the One River Vineyard Church. For Allen, outside of our salvation, there is no greater gift to us than children.
